We believe in:
1. The Scriptures and God
- The Inspiration of the Scriptures: The Bible (Old and New Testament) is the Word of God, verbally inspired, and the infallible and authoritative rule of faith and conduct. [2 Timothy 3:15-17; 1 Thessalonians 2:13; 2 Peter 1:21].
- The Only True God (Trinity): There is one true, eternal, and self-existent God, who has revealed Himself as the Father, the Son (Jesus Christ), and the Holy Spirit. [Deuteronomy 6:4; Isaiah 43:10,11; Matthew 28:19; Luke 3:22].
2. Humanity and Salvation
The Deity of the Lord Jesus Christ:
- The Fall of Man: Man was created good, but fell into transgression, incurring physical and spiritual death (separation from God). [Genesis 1:26,27, 2:17, 3:6; Romans 5:12-19].
- The Salvation of Man: Salvation is received through repentance toward God and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Regeneration by the Holy Spirit is essential. [Luke 24:47; John 3:3; Romans 10:1-15; Ephesians 2:28; Titus 2:11, 3:5-7].
3. The Work of the Holy Spirit
- The Baptism in the Holy Spirit: It is a gift subsequent to salvation and is the promise of the Father to all believers. Its purpose is to empower the believer for a life of holiness and effective service (power to witness). [Luke 24:49; Acts 1:4,8; 1 Corinthians 12:1-31].
- The Initial Evidence of the Baptism: The initial physical evidence of having received the Baptism in the Holy Spirit is speaking in other tongues (glossolalia) [Acts 2:4; 1 Corinthians 12:4-10,28],
- The Gifts of the Spirit: Spiritual gifts continue to be active and relevant for the Church today. [Mark 16:15-20; Acts 4:29-31; Hebrews 2:3,4].
4. The Church and the End Times
- The Sacraments (Ordinances): Water baptism (by immersion) [Matthew 28:19; Mark 16:16; Acts 10:47,48; Romans 6:4] .and the Holy Communion. [2 Peter 1:4; 1 Corinthians 11:26]
- Sanctification: It is the act of separating from evil and dedicating oneself to God. It is achieved by the grace of God through faith in Christ, with a daily dependence on the Holy Spirit. [Romans 12:1,2; 1 Thessalonians 5:23; Hebrews 13:12].
- The Return of Christ (Rapture): The resurrection of those who have died in Christ and their catching away (Rapture) together with living believers is the blessed hope of the Church. [1 Thessalonians 4:16,17; Romans 8:23; Titus 2:13; 1 Corinthians 15:51,52].
- The Millennial Kingdom of Christ: After the Rapture, Christ will visibly return with His saints to reign for a thousand years over the earth (Millennium). [Ezekiel 37:21,22; Zephaniah 3:19,20; Romans 11:26,27].
